FACIAL REJUVENATION

Acupuncture treatment for facial rejuvenation can be traced back as far as 2,000 years ago. This fact was documented in the Chinese medicine manuscripts, the Yellow Emperor Inner Classic, also known as the traditional Chinese medicine bible.  Acupuncture facial rejuvenation is based on the channel system theory. In Chinese medicine channels, also known as meridians, are interconnected pathways that run throughout the body much like a river. The entire internal organ system is interconnected with the superficial system, such as the skin, to form a type of network that runs throughout the whole body. To keep the skin healthy and youthful the system needs to have to have proper circulation of energy and blood and to replenish continuously just like that of a young child. Two main causes of skin deterioration is excess (inflammation) and deficiencies. Withered or dry skin can result from different root causes. Some examples are over exposure to harmful sun rays. Too much sun, even with sunscreen, can decrease the plumpness and elastic appearance of the skin over time. We can use the analogy of the rubber band. If one leaves a rubber band sitting in the sun, it dries, losing its shape and elasticity. Deficiencies, like lack of certain nutrients can rob the skin of its youthful appearance, which can can lead to inflammation and render the skin dull, depleted and fine. In facial rejuvenation fine hair like needles are inserted to the face and the body and topical wrinkles or scars to treat the root causes as well as the skin. This targeted treatments promote healthy flow of blood and Qi to the skin to build collagen and restore youthful glow.

Acupuncture facial rejuvenation specifically performs the following functions.

1. Promotes free flow of Qi (vital energy) and blood to build collagen and restore firmness and glow.

2. Regulates skin function by relieving inflammation

3. Clears problem skin and aids in healing of scars

In order to achieve radical facial rejuvenation, glowing skin and have long lasting results, one must be committed to treating the whole body with acupuncture, herbs and nutritional therapy.
